Youth Group Event: Volunteer at the Food Bank

We have the opportunity to volunteer at the Oregon Food Bank on Saturday, May 2nd from 9-11:30 am! We only have 5 spots left for Youth who are interested in attending. We will meet at the church parking lot in the morning on Saturday, May 2nd around 8:15 am.

Why volunteer?

Jesus tells us in the Gospel of Luke that loving God and loving our neighbor go hand in hand. We see again, and again, that love isn’t just something we say, it’s something we do! When In Luke 3:11, John the Baptist speaks to the crowds, he says, “Whoever has two shirts should share with the one who has none." And Jesus reminds us through stories like the Good Samaritan, that our neighbor is anyone in need, and that compassion often looks like stepping in to help, even when it’s inconvenient.
