Are you ready to learn more about the book of Daniel? Daniel is a mix of history, prophecy, and apocalyptic literature. It is divided into two main sections: the first half is a collection of stories about Daniel and his companions, and the second half contains Daniel's visions and prophecies about future events. You might remember stories like the three men thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship another God, and surviving miraculously by God’s hand. Or, you may remember the story of Daniel being thrown into a den of lions for praying to God. God also rescued him and even the king gave glory to God. However, Daniel is much more than these stories, the final chapters filled with Daniel’s visions and prophesies that relate to God’s final victory over evil.
Here's our key verse:
"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." Daniel 2:20-22
